Random Mode
To unlock Random Mode, you must beat the game once.
When starting a new game, during the carriage intro (before choosing starters), you’ll be asked if you want Random Mode.
There’s a standard random mode and an option to randomize evolutions.
Random Mode is progressive — stronger Pokémon appear as you advance.
Encounters are generated on the fly, not fixed per area.
Pokémon, moves, abilities, and items are randomized.
Monotype Mode
To activate Monotype Mode, receive your starter in the carriage, then talk to a scientist with a star icon near the Flare Laboratory.
Not all types are available to keep the experience balanced.
This mode does not change wild encounters — it only locks captures to your chosen type.
You can capture Pokémon whose evolution line includes the chosen type at any stage.
